LOCATION OF THE TEMPLE: Sri Padaleeswarar Temple,is situated at Cuddalore, a costal town of Tamilnadu, India.

HISTORY OF THE TEMPLE: In order to bless all the lives in the earth, the God, as per his plan played a game with the Goddess. Many times, the God lost to Goddess. But, Goddess told that the Victory is her right and closed the eyes of the God with her hand. This caused the earth to become totally dark and all the things came to stand still and grinding halt. On seeing this happened because of her act, she requested God to give a punishment for her.

The God told her to go to earth and perform poojas at all Shiva temples. While doing this, if her left Shoulder and left eyes are flittering, then the God will come there and take her back. So, Goddess came to earth and did as told by the God. After performing poojas at many places, she came to this place. While performing the pooja here, her left shoulder and left eyes flickered. So, she decided to stay ther and perform her poojas until God comes and take her back. She decided to perform pooja without being in any human form. God took the form of Sitthar and relieved the people of the earth from their difficulties.
